I have some how lost all sound on my PC. I have an AMD K7 Processor 1700
Expression (1.5Gz). Every now and then the time clock gets out of synch and
I have to go into the BIOS to set the time and date. Today I went into one
of the advanced screens and disabled the onboard sound (because I have an
Audigy 2 Pro card). The PC booted up and when I got into Windows there was
not sound. As well, an install new hardware message appeared. I did not
install new hardware and prevented the "install Wizard" from continuing. I
figured I must have messed up, so I rebooted to my BIOS, reset the onboard
sound to "enabled" and when Windows booted up I still got no sound. I have
verified every possible connection, device hardware conflict, no mute, all
speakers are connected properly. I then went to system restore and restored
to two days ago (everything was working yesterday). Still no sound.
Can anyone help?
