I am getting an HP ZT1135 Laptop from a friend this
weekend and he says the computer won't boot up because it
has a password on the bios and he forgot to write it down
for safe keeping. He is the original owner of the laptop.
Is there anyway to reset the password or find it on the
drive?

Any help is greatly appreciated since it is already paid
for...

A BIOS password is stored in the BIOS. For a laptop computer,
you'll need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop and order a
BIOS reset disk.

Hello

You will have to contact the Manufacturer

Alvin

If you are really computer savy, you could open up the laptop case,
find the CMOS battery, remove it for a few seconds, replace it, then
put the machine back together. It probably isn't under warranty any
more (many warranties aren't transferable to a new owner, but many are
so you take a chance there) so you may have nothing to lose.

Me, I'd never dream of doing that, not being savy enough to think I
could put the damn thing back together. This happened to me once and
the local Best Buy fixed it for the minimum bench fee ($40, IIRC).
