Big Blank Space Splits Add/Remove Program Listing

A big blank area has shown up in my Add/Remove Program Listing, splitting it
in two. At first, I thought I'd lost the bottom half of the list, but it's
after the blank area. Actually, the area is not quite blank; there's a
strange set of long nested black and white rectangles in it that are
elongated in the list direction. Since I don't know what would cause it, I
don't know how to get rid of it.

Any ideas out there?

TIA

Run the auto cad fix under "add\remove-white space" even if you don't have
auto cad installed

Mark,

No joy, but thanx anyway. The article was written to apply to Win2K, but I
too thought
it may work with WinXP also, but no luck.

Had the same problem here. Found a good page at an MSDN blog:
http://tinyurl.com/p2b8g

just open regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and search for all "DisplayIcon" values. Press F3 to go through them
all. If there is one ending with a negative number then just delete
this negative number!
After this the blank space is gone...
took me 5 minutes @ google to find this..

hope i could help you
