Better third party network library

Are there any better HTTP libraries available? We are currently using
HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse and they are really not working out too
well. The error messages it returns are not that useful, and there are
times when I can connect fine with Pocket IE, but not with the app using
these libraries.
