better quality startup screen?

can the quality of the windows xp startup logo be changed so it looks better?
at the moment it looks like it only uses about 8 colours. can it be set in
windows or is this a bios setting that needs changing?

I don't think you can change this. And since you aren't going to see it for
long anyway, I don't see why you'd even want the bother. I'm presuming your
video resolution/colors/etc look fine once Windows is loaded, right?

If it only uses 8 colors, what would be the point of using a color depth of
one million colors? Even at one million colors, it will STILL only use the
8 colors. Also, since your video driver has not yet been loaded, how are
you going to ensure that your video card is a known device when the startup
logo screen is displayed?

I think it's 8 bit limits? Might be 16...

that it will never be great graphics really.
