Hi, can anyone please explain why M$ release these products without any
obvious means of uninstalling them.

I readily except that there may be problems as the very nature of beta is to
find any bugs. But surely this is more reason to have a means of
uninstalling them. The way things are you find the bugs for M$ and then left
to sort out the mess yourself.

Any comments welcomed.

Yes, read and understand the "rules" for beta testing, who should
and who should not, and most importantly, how to set up and
alternate PC or at least a beta boot partition. And, buy a good
imager and use it religiously.
 
Hi, no I admit I didn't read the disclaimer, I never do, which I except is a
my own fault.

I have an image but I didn't need it and I don't except the comment that I
"laid
this spiel on an innocent readership", I was asking a fair question "Why no
uninstaller?".

My only experience of beta is IE7 & Windows Defender, both I consider to be
good products and both can be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs.
 
Good Grief! You mean that folks should read all of that stuff? Wow! Who
would have thunk it! But then, read is a 4-letter word!
 
Beta's are not feature complete, and uninstallers tend to be one of the last
features implemented (if they are part of the ultimate features at all!). If
you don't like this, don't install beta programs.

"M$" isn't responsible for your stupidity. If you're looking for a
scapegoat, contact your parents.
 
Fair Comment Bob but it would be nice to Know whether a uninstaller was part
of the package or not. Maybe this was stated and I didn't read it.

I'm doing what Jerry suggested and making a beta boot partition to evaluate
them in future. You live and learn. I was warned on this forum about beta
but I have to getmy fingers burnt befoes I take noticed,

Hi, I Couldn't find the way to uninstall Office 2007 but then again I must
have missed something.

Because Microsoft assumes that anyone willing to install a BETA product will
have the basic skill and knowledge to know how to remove it.

BETA programs are not for children or casual users.

If you are not familiar with tracking installation and how to use that to
uninstall, you should not be playing with BETA.

They are BETA for a reason.

Same problem here. Didn't read that this (downloading the Beta Office 2007)
would also change all my Word files to office files, and I'm not ready to
ruin 3 years of research not being able to get Office 2007 Beta uninstalled
and return to my original Word files. If anyone has help or an answer, let me
know. I'd really appreciate it. And, I don't need any insults as to how
stupid I am, etc. I'm like Socrates: the more I know, the more I realize I
don't know. Get it? Please hlep if you have the know how.
