Best way to restore Outlook accounts after reformat/OS install?

The last time I upgraded my OS (W2K-WXP), I just saved the OL2002
outlook.pst file, and after the reformat, replaced the default from
install with my saved one.

Big mistake; there were hiccups with phantom folders that took a while
to clear up. Could someone give me, or point me to, instructions for a
"clean" way to restore all my accounts, setting etc?

I have to re-install on a reformatted W2K machine using OL2002.

Thanks,

George

Slipstick has a great write up on this:

Your mistake was overwriting the new PST you created. Next time, simply
open the old PST (File>Open>Outlook Data File) and then make it your default
delivery location and delete the new PST or drag-and-drop the items from the
old PST to the new one. See http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
