Best search engine for local/network drives ?

Hi,

I am looking for a search engine for finding files/folders that could
either be on local or network drives. I would like to know what is the
fastest one available.

Yahoo Desktop (x1) is by far the best. Make sure you install the
plugins that will be needed. You will also need to configure the
options on where to search.

Other options are googles desktop and copernic.

Try all 3 and see which fits you best

You might search this news group as it's a recurrent question. I use
Copernic for quite a time. It's fast, extracts and previews info from
pdf and openoffice, too, not only from text, html or word MS formats,
indexes Mozilla/Thunderbird and MS formats and doesn"t radio back to the
home country as Google does.
