Hi all:
I just bought a Microtek Scanmaker 5950 and was shocked by how horrible
the included software was. The reason I bought the scanner is because
I want to start scanning in all of the various documents I save in my
home filing cabinet (bank statements, bills, brokerage statements,
medical records, etc.) that are getting quite plentiful.
I deliberately bought the Scanmaker 5950 because of its multiple sheet
feeder. However, the included software doesn't seem to function too
well for anything more than the occasional scan. It seems to want to
save every scan as a default titled pdf in a specific folder, and while
you can change the default, you have to do this each time by going into
several layers of menu commands. Basically, it is way too cumbersome
to scan in the thousands of pages I'd like to save as hundreds of pdfs.
I am sure I'm not the only one using a scanner for backup purposes.
Can anyone recommend a good software program that makes this kind of
bulk scan job simpler?
Much oblidged.
