Good evening.

I have started this post because i think it will be interesting to find out the benchmark scores from all our computers and post them in here with a detailed system specification. I would be interested to see what kind of system gets what kind of score etc etc...

... So please post your SiSoft Sandra 2004 and Futurmark 3DMark2003 results in this thread after providing details of your computers components and operating systems.

Thanks, i look forward to seeing results.

I will start then.

My computer is as follows

Abit IC7-G
Intel P4 2.8c @3.02GHz
2x256Mb OCZ PC4200 RAM @ Cas 2.5 and tightened timings
Dual 80Gb Samsung Spinpoint SATA 7200rpm 8mb Hard Drives
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800pro 128Mb AGP8x @ 410/352MHz
Sony 4x DVD+ - RW
Samsung 52x CD-RW
Floppy Drive
Antec Tru-Power PSU 400w
Windows XP Home SP2, all updates.
All tests run with computer running normally (no programs killed before testing) to simulate a real environment.

Ok so benchmarks,

3DMark2003 - Using the latest Omega driver based on catalyst 4.8:

6223 3d Marks

And here are my SiSoft Sandra Scores:

CPU Arithmatic Benchmark
Dhrystone Alu 9097 MIPS
Whetstone FPU/isse2 3766/6240 MFLOPS

CPU Multimedia Benchmark
Integer iSSE2 32024 it/s
Float iSSE2 33500 it/s

Memory Bandwidth Benchmark
RAM Bandwidth INT Buffered iSSE2 5123 Mb/s
RAM Bandwidth Float Buffered iSSE2 5169 MB/s

Well theres mine... They mean nothing to me (the Sandra ones) so i'd be interested to compare them to say an equivalent AMD system or a similar Intel one.

Chris

I will be next then.

My computer is as follows
Quote:

DFI LanParty NF2 ULTRA B
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3200+ @ 2204MHz

80Gb seagate 7200rpm Hard Drive to be upgraded to RAID0
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200 @ 1024x742
LG 8x DVD RW
Floppy Drive STEALTH

Thermaltake silent pure power butterfly psu 450W
Windows XP Pro SP1, all updates. ordered SP2 on disk

All tests run with computer running normally as i would turn it on and kick it into aol. (which munches on RAM)

And here are my SiSoft Sandra Scores:

CPU Arithmatic Benchmark
Dhrystone Alu 8773 MIPS
Whetstone FPU 3337 MFLOPS

CPU Multimedia Benchmark
Integer iSSE2 20,016 it/s
Float iSSE2 21,325 it/

Memory Bandwidth Benchmark
RAM Bandwidth INT Buffered iSSE2 2642 Mb/s
RAM Bandwidth Float Buffered iSSE2 2407 MB/s
what do you expect for £40

And therews mine chris, as you already know.

Good luck to everyone

3DMark03: Around 6000

CPU Arithmatic Benchmark
Dhrystone Alu: Around 7300
Whetstone FPU/isse2: Around 2050/3800

CPU Multimedia Benchmark
Integer iSSE2: Around 17300 it/s
Float iSSE2: Around 20500 it/s

Memory Bandwidth Benchmark
RAM Bandwidth INT Buffered iSSE2: Around 2500
RAM Bandwidth Float Buffered iSSE2: Around 2500

Had a few programs running in the background, though i aint sure if they affected the score. I didnt take the exact score, I just rounded em off to the nearest 100 whether it higher or lower.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I have no PC home to benchmark it. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA:D

Just a word of advise to all in good faith:

Benchmarking puts a lot of stress on all the components in your PC, DO NOT repeat DO NOT do it often. It's your hard earned money and you owe it to yourself to take care of your computer. Hardware failures are usually the result using such benchmarking softwares more than it is required.

Don't tell me I did not tell you so! :D

thanks quad, i am trying to keep it to a minimum, and chris even asked me to tell him what his scores were from before so he didnt have to do it again, and i asked him, so more teamwork and less benchmarking,

i did see it;

WARNING; benchmarking puts stress on components that are being tested, du not run test if the component has any wakness

my 3D Mark score ain't much cop is it?

benchies:

floppy, nice name for your C drive... shiny beast
Thank you squire :)

The other two are named 'Clear Spot' and (bit dull this one, but self-explanatory) 'Music'

Chris: I ran the 3D benchie with Catalyst 4.7 installed, have yet to install 4.8. I've always been a bit wary of installing the Omega drivers - they OK?

Flops - the Omega drivers are MORE than ok!!

They arent totally rewritten drivers - they are tweaked catalyst ones so they are ATI's drivers just working more efficiently to give better performance and image quality.

floppy what set up have you got for all of them?
You mean computer specs? You can see most of that in the 'summary' pic I attached in previous post, but it's:

AMD XP3200 CPU
Thermalright SLK-800 Cooler with 80mm Pabst medium flo fan
Arctic Silver 5.0 Thermal compound
Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 Motherboard
2 x Crucial 512Mb PC3200 in dual memory mode
2 x Western Digital 35Gb Raptors, RAID 0
1 x Western Digital 80Gb IDE HDD
1 x Seagate 80Gb IDE HDD
Lian Li PC61 (black) case
Antec Truepower 430W PSU
2 x Vantec Stealth 80mm fans, case front
2 x Pabst 80mm Medium flo fans, roof and rear of case
Liteon 40 x CDRW, black
Samsung DVD ROM drive, black
Sony Floppy Drive, Black
All rounded cables (Akasa)
ATI 9800 Pro vid card, 128Mb, with VGA Arctic cooler
On board sound & LAN

For all benchmarks I shut down Anti-Virus, UD Protein Crunching (Cancer Cure thingie) and the Gigabyte system hardware Monitor.

you should be able to get a far far better 3DMark score than that! you have a) twin raptors and b) double the memory!

and i thought the 3200+ was meant to be better than a 2.8GHz P4c?

ok Quad :)

thanks for the advice.

Reefsmoka - shoulda posted exact scores.
No point, they change every time you do them.

So they say mate, so they say ;)

I dunno. It does seem to be the CPU letting things down, during that part of Futuremark's benchmark program, The Troll's Lair I think, CPU test # 2, the fps slowed down in places to 1.

I'm worried about this chip, it runs way hotter than I expected and now this. Hmmm.

Anyways, the Omega site seems to be down atm, but I'd already d/l the Omega version of the ATI Catalyst 4.7 drivers, so I installed them.

Result?

ATI 4.7 drivers: 5485
Omega 4.7 drivers: 5506

So, some improvement.

But I did notice that with the Omega drivers, the grafix within Futuremark 3D were smoother and sharper looking. And I see there's an overclocking facility in there.

Might up things a little as I have an Arctic VGA cooler fitted, and see what we get.

I have one of those bad boys fitted to mine. There even more silent than the stock fan, you have 2 choices of speed (low and high) and even on high you cant hear it.

I've bumped my core up 20mhz, i can go higher, but the weather has been pretty warm lately, so i dont want my GPU dripping out the bottom of my case.

Altogether i think its added around 300-400 points on my 3DMark03 score. But i'll be suprised if anyone can tell the difference when playing a game from stock speeds to oc'd speeds. The R9800Pro does the job anyway ;).

I overclock the core of my 9800pro from 378MHz default to 411MHz - thats 33MHz with no special cooling. The memory i increase to 353MHz from 337MHz thats about 16MHz. Good increase in speed - no artifacting.

i noticed the omega site was down - wonder why. Yeah - the images are alot nicer and the performance is better - so there is no disadvantage to having them on there...

As for overclocking, don't use the one that comes with the drivers, download Rage3D Tweak. It has a VPU recover option and also the overclocking tool is nicer to use in my opinion.

I don't know what is with your chip then - the SLK-800 is one of the best coolers around and the fan should do the job nicely. All voltages set correct? it sounds like it is running too hot.

besides - even with your graphics on stock speeds you should be getting at least 5750 - thats about what i get with CPU at stock speeds, Memory at stock timings, graphics at stock speeds. Acually it should be miles better - raptor raid and memory, as i said previously.
