Hi I hope this mail finds someone who can help me. I've
been working on this problem for 5 months unsuccessfully.
I have an Acer Aspire 6000 computer Pent. II which had a
3Gig drive & windows 98. I decided to upgrade by loading
a 40Gig drive, boosting the 64 ram to 128 and loading XP
Pro. getting the worm blaster virus and doom virus I am
running Norton now. Then the devil possessed my machine.
The main problem is I'm getting disconnected every 30-
50mins. The guy who put the 40Gig drive in d/l a new
driver for the modem. My modem is a IBM Data Fax 28.8
bhps its an internal modem, dial-up. I am no tech but
I've learned a little enough to know that Fat 32 wont
handle more then 30Gig so Ive put NTFS in. But am
seriosly thinking of returning to windows 98. I think XP
is a brilliant system but Ive experienced nothing but
problems since Ive had it.After 5 months of trying to
alleviate the problem my patience is wearing a little
thin. I apologise because I know I probably havent given
you enough info. I've worked the problem down to the
modem driver and am looking for a driver I can install to
fix this evil hex I've got. Thanks Radio
