Before installing SP-2 . . .

A few items I haven't seen addressed, or haven't fully understood:

1) I know SP-2 comes with a popup blocker. I already have one -- AdShield.
Their site has no information about SP-2 compatibility at all, however. Would
the best procedure probably be to A) do nothing, B) disable, or C) completely
uninstall AdShield before installing SP-2? AdShield works as a type of IE
plugin I guess. I would expect some problems maybe.

2) I use Kerio PFW 2.1.5, and I fully intend to keep using it post SP-2. That
means I will want to disable the SP-2 firewall and update the security center
options. I have little doubt that I can do that successfully. However, I've
seen recommendations to disable or turn off the firewall before installing
SP-2. Can this be correct? We should venture out there on the Net with no
firewall and hope we don't get nailed before we get to the download site, and
install SP-2? I was surprised to read this, and clarifications and/or
reasoning appreciated.

3) Finally, I run Symantec, and I've updated to the SP-2-compatible version and
rebooted. I don't anticipate any problems. Disable Symantec also before
installing SP-2? This would not bother me as much as turning off the firewall,
of course.

Thanks.

Bill

D/L the file and disable the firewall before installing.I would disable any
Spam and aware programs also.I installed this over SPA2 Beta and recommend
you close these mentioned utilities for a trouble free install.

I would have uninstalled it, and then reinstalled it after the SP2
installation if you are not satisfied with the builtin popup blocker
that SP2 installs.

Never disable the firewall when you are online. If you want to disable
the firewall during the installation, download the network/standalone
SP2 installation file (266 MB), and then disconnect from the net before
disabling the FW and installing SP2.

The above is my preferred way to install SP2.

SP2 network/standalone version, 266 MB:

Yes, disable any Anti Virus products before installing SP2 (preferably
offline).

Also, if you are using any virtual drives, for example Daemon Tools or
Alcohol's virtual drive, then you should disable them, and in the case
of Daemon Tools uninstall the program before installing SP2
