Hi All,

I have a beeping problem..
I can't seem to get the PC speaker to beep in XPe.
I've googled the NG and so far I verified having the following components:
1. System Speaker
2. Beep Driver
3. Class Installer: Non-plug and play drivers
4. Device: Legacy Driver

I can see the Beep & System Speaker in DevMgr and both apear as started and
with no problems.
technically, the machine can beep. I hear it after the BIOS at boot.
the machine have no sound-card so there are no audio devices appears in
Control Panel (that exclude the option that I cannot hear sound 'cause it is
directed to the Audio-Out jack).

I'm doing my checking using a small VB form that uses the Beep function. I
also have another program that uses the PC speaker that works fine under XP
Pro.

What am I missing?

thanks,

YaronM

Yaron,

I don't know why it does not work for you. With the components you mentioned and assuming no hardware problems it should work.

You can try and use RegMon/FileMon just when you use your test VB app. It shouldn't be a long log when you just call a beep API
(e.g. MessageBeep).

Or you can also try: XP Pro or XP Pro Emulation.
