This occurs every 2-3 minutes whether cpu is running or
not. Have checked all boards and connections. Looked at
Event Viewer but can't relate all the times to any
particular error message. Won't know what to do anyway.
Any suggestions. This PC ia only 4 weeks old and I really
don't want to take it into the shop at thsi point.

Thanks, BIll

Usually non regular beeping are in small sequences(2,3,
or 4s),you should chk youre manual or go on line to
search for system error beeps.Something isnt right,
automotive computers will do the same, its how you chk
trouble codes when the chk engine light is present. With
computers they normally do this before the os starts.

You have the new strain of virus that morphs into
R2D2!!!!

No try returning it if its that new

I'm hearing a beep, too. At first I thought it was
coming from my computer, but it isn't. My smoke detector
needs a new battery.

Hey Bill,

Did it come with any hardware monitoring software preinstalled ?
Is there any little icon in your system tray(the bit by the clock) you
haven't clicked on yet, it may be hidden due to being inacitve. Click the
chevron to expose all the icons.

This kind of software monitors temperature and fan speeds. These are also
monitored by the bios.

Perhaps a sticking fan may be causing it. Take the case off it so next time
it beeps, you can have a look.

Are the beeps comming though your sound card to your speakers, or do you
have a case speaker connected to the motherboard and the sound is comming
from there.

Hi, usually when you get bleeps every so often it can refer to the CPU
either running too hot, or the warning temp sensor has been set too low.
Quite honestly if it came from the PC shop like that then it's them you
should be talking to for tech support....
