i get the message battery has been fully discharged and
needs to be recharged this may take up to ten or more
hours when i click on battery information

If your battery refuses to charge, its time to purchase a
new battery.

what kind of battery are you talking about. I get an internal systems weak
alert often and the clock looses and hour often, my book does not tell me
what kind of battery i need and if i had it i would not know where to put
it. the book shows no information about where this internal battery is
susposed to be. who would like to help me on this.

Hi,
Carey and Trinity may be discussing a UPS or backup battery (i.e. the big
heavy one that the computer would use if there were a blackout.)
The one *you*probably need is about the size of a quarter and is inside the
tower or main part of the computer. You would have to remove a side panel to
change it. If the battery is dying your comp clock will lose time but more
importantly it powers the CMOS! If you cannot do it yourself you should have
a competent person do it for you.

Thank You Gordie, I will be getting in touch with dell tomorrow, since I have
an in home service policy. I hope the policy will cover their replacement of
a internal system battery because I cannot do it myself, and that is why I
bought the service policy when I ordered the computer. You have made my day
and the rest will be up to the support people at dell.thanks again June

You're welcome.
