I am running XP Pro on a Sony Vaio R505DSP. When working on the battery,
the monitor starts off by telling me that I have about 2 hours of life.
After about 30 minutes, it falshes the "CRITICAL LOW BATTERY" warning and
hibernates. If I turn the machine back on, I can keep working for more than
another hour. Somehow, there is a problem with detecting the power left in
my battery (not the actual battery life).

How do I re-educate the monitor?

Thanks,

Matthew

according to PCworld mag let battery run down completely, this should reset
the indicator.

see PCworld.com aug 2004

I have tried this several times now, but it does not fix the problem at all.

Any other suggestions?

TIA.
