Hi,

I've one PC acting as a server (Win XP Pro) with a folder that is accessible
to some of the pc's on the workgroup. However, for one particular pc, I'm
having problems trying to map a network drive.

in the "Browse for folder" dialog box the server's name appears but will NOT
expand to allow selection of the folders which are shared. This is only
happening on one PC so I suspect it's something to do with security, but am
flumoxed.

Apologies for this simple query but I'm at a loss for ideas.

Rich,

This could be a security (authentication / authorisation) issue, but there are
other possibilities too. Are you using Simple or Advanced File Sharing? Are
you using the same account on each client computer? Have you tried other
accounts on the problem computer?

Another possibility would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. Read this article with an open mind.
