Bar Chart and Width of Bars

In PPT, if I insert bar chart, the default chart displays bars with a nice
visible width. If I alter Column D (changing the column label, delete the
column...) in the bar chart, then the bars become very narrow in width and
the chart is very difficult to view. What do I need to do to relabel
Column D (from 4th Qtr) to a date value and maintain the width of the bars.

Hi,

I've tried to replicate this but can't. What version of PowerPoint, and can
you send me a sample, please?

I'm not sure of the exact problem you're having, but the way to adjust bar
widths is to:

Double click on the chart to enter edit mode.
Double click on any bar to highlight a series.
Click the Options tabs
Adjust "Gap Width" to increase bar width.
