Hi All
First of all sorry for the x-post, but I didn't know which this is more
relevant to.
Secondly I know you're going to shout tight Yorkshire git, but could you
please advise on the following:
1) Bandwidth Logger for XP
Basically the broadband ISP that I set my friends and family up with does it
on bandwidth usage at a low price rather than unlimited bandwidth for a
larger monthly price, eg BT Openworld. Its a sort of payasyougo for light
users.
However my family-in-laws are going to pay for this, but have football
player lodgers who also use (and abuse) the family XP machine.
What I need is some background software that logs the bandwidth usage that
EACH User Account uses so that they can split the monthly bill up between
them.
Do you know of any software that could do this for me? If poss, any that
offers a trial period so that I can see if it is suitable for their needs.
Nothing fancy, just a text based breakdown if needs be of how many MB each
has used.
2) Remote Access program
I have Win98 on my PC, but my family and friends that have the same
broadband + router as me have a mixture of XP, ME and 98.
Do you know of any good (preferably free) software that would allow me to
control their Desktop sort of thing so that I can set things up for them
remotely rather than keep going to their house and getting nagged by aunties
and other undesirable relations.
Remote installation of the necessary software would be good, but programs
such as EMCO's Remote Desktop software doesn't seem to work too well on
Win98 at all.
Thanks
