In DHCP the computer name is showing up as either an IP address or as bad
address?
is this related to a dns issue?

thanks

This is related to the address already being in use, you must exclude from
distribution IP addresses on machines that are statically assigned.

thank you, yes we were in the prossess of moving dhcp from one server to
another, the addresses must have already been given out by the old server.
