I installed XP upgrade from Win 98 and had several problems. The setup gave
me errors several times when it couldn't find certain files on the XP upgrade
CD. After many errors. The PC rebooted and XP will load but with many
problems. When I try to run setup again, an error pops up that cannot
continue setup because it cannot access parts of the registry.

I tried accessing the internet on my cable modem but the computer cant find
web pages. I don't have any hardware conflicts.

Someone told me to copy the i386 folder to my harddrive and run setup off
the hard drive, but I dont understand how it will find the files on the drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi

Reboot your PC and keep tapping F8 to see if you can access a screen that
has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as an option. If that doesn't work try
to access the same again, this to try a System Restore form Safe Mode.

What kind of XP CD have you got?
