bad keyboard code

We have a pc on which XP Pro was installed with the french keyboard layout.
The problem is that at the logon screen the letters are at the wrong place.

Is there a way to change the keyboard at the logon screen. I know that when
you press the "alt"-"shift", we switch between keyboard code. But i want to
specify the US layout by default.

Thanks

Right click on the language bar in the taskbar and choose Settings. On the
settings Tab you can change the Default input language to English. If the
option is not present, use the Add button in the Installed Services section
to add English. You will then be able to switch back and forth as needed
(from the language bar).

Thanks for your answer

Unforunatly this is only good once logged in. At the logon screen, it is
still the french layout...

Do you have a French keyboard?

We have a standard qwerty keyboard.

That means that at the logon screen, the "q" is replaced by the "A". the
numbers are replaced by the caracters usually accessible by pressing "Shift"
"number"...

The user profile is not in effect until you log in. Does not sound
promising to me.

I hope that helps. I ran into the same problem with a German keyboard
layout being required to log into a German linux distribution. Even though
I selected English and an English layout, the English layout was not loaded
until after the login.
