Bad color display in IE 6

I have W XP media center. Many, but not all color images are smeared or
broken up into little (about 1/8inch) squares making thme difficult to see.
Color is displayed perfectly in Firefox.
There are some reasons that I don't go to IE 7 yet.

Sorry for posting here but can't find any IE forum.
