bad cd rom bad

hey out there,i am having a problem. I recently had my pc
repaired i had the sasser virus. it works beautifully now
except for one problem.my factory installed philips cd
rom (r/rw) will not work at all,it doesn't read
disks,burn disks anything.it worked fine before what do i
do?

Does the drawer open? If so, then at least it is getting power. Chances are
the IDE cable was not reattached properly if the repairman physically opened the
case and was mucking around.
