Here is another way

Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start
then Run. (The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and
click OK. (The registry editor will open.)
Browse to the key:
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \
CurrentVersion \ Run'
In the right pane, delete the value pointing
to 'DLGLI.EXE'.
Exit the registry editor.

-----Original Message-----
I recently purchased an e-machine (my second, have never
had any problems with them) and when I ran Ad-Aware and
Spybot, they reported BackWeb Client was installed.
I didn't know what this was, and contacted e-machines who
simply stated if I hadn't used it, I could just remove it
via "Add/Remove"...simple enough...but it wasn't listed
there.
I then tried to remove it via the "bwunin.exe" located in
the program directory (listed under c:\program
files\desktop manager, and got an error stating I did not
have sufficient permissions to remove.
I then looked here to see if I could find anything and
only found a reference to HP printers, which I don't
use/have.
Is it safe to assume then, that the program is not, in
fact, installed, and that I can safely remove it from my
system using, say, norton system works?
I have also contacted e-machines, but based on the
previous correspondence, I'm not confident I'll get a real
good answer.

Thanks for both potential solutions SpotDog13...but in the first case I don't see anything in the processes that looks like it could be BackWeb...

As to the Registry correction...I could not find the value listed in that location...

Would it also be possible to start windows in safe mode, and then attempt to uninstall it? What about removing/deleting any/all keys from the registry that have to do with BackWeb?

Thanks again....

Dave
