My hard drive crashed and will be replaced in a few days,
under an
extended service agreement.
How do I backup my 'favorites' in Internet Explorer?
There are a number of ways to backup your favorites.
The simplest is to copy this folder,
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURACCOUNT\Favorites
Note: Change YOURACCOUNT to the actual name of your user
account.
Once you've got XP running on your replacement hard drive you
can paste the contents of this folder into your new Favorites
folder.
You can also export your favorites from within IE.
On the toolbar at the top of an Internet Explorer window, click
on File.
Note: If you are using IE7, you may need to tap the Alt key to
see the Menu bar.
Move your mouse pointer down to Import and Export.
Follow the instructions to export your favorites to a file
named bookmark.htm.
On your new setup, reverse the procedure by selecting Import.
Good luck
