Be aware of the severe limitations of this application:
1) The XP Home version cannot create a full system backup however the XP Pro
version can
2) It cannot recover files from a backup created on earlier versions of
Windows such as Windows 98 or Me
3) It cannot backup directly to CD-R/W or other optical device
4) It cannot split files

Because backups are so important I'd recommend a decent backup solution.
There are many to choose from but NTbackup is not one.

1. It can't make a floppy. But I aways skipped this step anyway. Irrelevent. It can do a full backup.

2. Not true. It cannot restore FILE backups. It can do tapes.

It is designed to do business. It is very powerfull. Remember businesses use TAPES. XP is geared to tape with Library management as well. It supports robotic tapes machines etc.

See Removable Storage in Computer Management.

Perhaps you will stop slagging it now.

It cannot split files, but WinZip and WinRAR can. I use those all the time
to store large VPC images across multiple CD's.
