Hi there,
I want to make a backup of my documents in win 2000 and
wondering what is the best method of back up for me
incremental, differental, normal, etc

When i delete something from my documents i want to
exclude it from the backup so i may restore it if i
accendentaly deleted it without fear of a scheduled
backup saving the changes and wiping it from the backup.

Can anyone help?
Thanks in advanced
Joe

Hi Joe,

You can use two methods to take backup.

Backup -1
==========
Weekly once - Normal Backup
Daily - Incremental
Backup

When you use this combination the backup time would be less but restore
time would be more. Because you need the last normal backup tape and all
incremental backup tapes.

Backup - 2
==========

Weekly once - Normal Backup
Daily - Decremental Backup

When you use this combination the restore time would be less and backup
time would be more. You need the last normal backup and last differential
backup.

So if you want less backup time first method is prefered and less restore
time method -2 is prefered.

Thanks,
