What is the difference between backing up my .pst folder by copying
the folder from c:\documents and settings\[name]\local settings
\application data\microsoft\outlook and pasting it into my backup
folder on another disk, or downloading and using the Microsoft Outlook
Personal Folders Backup tool?

Is one better than the other?

Thank you.

They both do the same job - it is a matter of personal preference. I prefer to copy my .pst manually - but that is just me.

And you let it overwrite the .pst file that is there from a previous
back up or does one have to delete the old one?
