Hi,
I know this is a stupid question. But, I want to
backup my HDD. When I look for help on the MS website it
only talks about Windows XP Professional with "backup" in
system tools. Is there a backup utility for Windows XP
home edition? If not do I just have to amke several CD's
or DVD's to back up my HDD. My level is intermediate
Thank you
Marie

Backup is installed automatically on XP Professional, but not on
XP Home. If you have the complete XP Home CD, find backup on the
CD, in \ValueAdd\MSFT\NTBACKUP and install it yourself by
doubleclicking the file ntbackup.msi.

If you don't have an XP CD, you can download ntbackup.msi at
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/software/ntbackup.msi

There is a backup utility in windows but i recommend you not to use it ,
is
really bad and doesn't work properly and i don't start say about all
errors.
I recommend you to use a free and easy to use software like
http://www.dmailer.com/dmailer-backup.html , it will help you in a lot of
ways
like it helped me all the time .
And you will be able to store your backup online on their servers.

I doubt that Marie is still waiting for an answer after more than 6 years,
but if she is, she's almost as foolish as you for answering her :-)
