Backspace doens't work. How to put it back?

Hi,

I have changed an option in Words and I can't find which one it is. When I
select a text and press backspace, the text doens't go away. Normally it will
be cleared, only something is changed. I have allready reset my custimized
keybord commands, only this doens't give any effect.

Do you guys know something I could do to change it back?

Hi Piet,

In Tools > Options > Edit, make sure "Typing replaces selection" is checked.
 
Tools | Options | Edit: "Typing replaces selection."
