Backing up to CD

I'm trying to back up the MY documents directory to CD. I Instlled the backup program from the OS CD. For some reason when I select my CD drive (E:) to back up to, I get an "invalid file name E:\my docs.bkp. check to see that the path is accessible". I don't have this problem if I send the back up to the floppy drive but I don't have enough floppies. I've tried using CD-R and CD-RW discs. I also verified I can copy to the E:drive.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can cheat it with a packet writing program like Roxio
Direct CD (comes with Easy CD Creator ) Or Nero
InCD or DLA You then use a CD ( will not Span cd's) or
DVD's (4.7+ gb) to back up too.

Hi, you just need to right click on My Documents and choose Send To>>CD
Writer. If you just want to burn one folder to a CD there is no reason to
use NTBackup.

--CD-R backup with NTBackup--
NTBackup does not see a CD writer or DVD writer as a backup medium. You can
either purchase third party software to do complete backup's to CD's. Or
third party CD writing software (Nero 6 w/ InCD, Easy CD Creator 6 w/ Drag 2
Disc) that will allow you to span 1 file to multiple CD's. If you chose to
purchase CD burning software, then all you do is backup to your hard drive
and copy it over with the third party CD software.

Hi,

Backing up directly to the CD drive is not supported. You need to create the
backup file on the hard drive, then copy it to CD.
