Recently I had problems installing updated common client
for Norton's Anti-virus. Their on line instructions were
basicly to completely remove and reinstall NAV. This
proceedure included deleting registry keys. They
recommended backing up the complete registry before
running regedit. Refering to Microsoft knowledge base
artilce #320820 It says to use the back up utility to
back up the system state. The back up utility is not
included in the default installation of XP Home Edition.
You have to install it off the CD. My machine came with
XP loaded already. all Software is backed up by a
separate partition on the hard drive. I did not see the
utility available as a down load from Microsoft. Is
there a different way to back up the entire registry or
down load the utility? Should I just export the specific
keys to be deleted and not worry about backing up the
entire registry?

Hmm...I don't see why you can't use the regedit import/export
tool.
