backing up critical files

I have download all critical files and updates and I would like to back them
up but don't know where the are save to because when I downloaded them they
atomically Installed? How like to back these files so I don't have to send
4 days again downloading them

Too late, they were downloaded to temporary storage, installed, and
erased. If you want permanent copies, you'll have to use the MS
corporate update site, download manually, and save the files (as well as
installing them!).

You should never need to install them again unless you trash your
system. If you just wait a few months you'll be able to get them all
(and more) on the WinXP SP2 release CD anyway - just don't trash your
system before then!

Each downloads as an .exe file that gets stored by default in Temporary
internet files. Provided they have not been dropped from there, you can
go to Internet options, click Settings in the Temp Int FIles in the
middle of the General page, and there click on 'View Files' and copy
away the .exe ones to a different folder
