I have a database with Access Security enabled. Can I (1) backup the
database such that I can open it without security - just open it in Access or
(2) remove the Security feature from the whole database?

Thanks

David

Yes

But i doubt that anyone will tell you how to get round the built-in security
in this forum.

If you have rights to open the db then your don't need to "open it without
security". If you do have have the correct rights then just open the db
normally and remove the security. If you don't then ask permission from who
ever does.

Sorry

Its mine and I have the access. I just get nervous about the security
feature failing and never getting to the data again. I was under the
impression that one on - the security feature could not be turned off short
of a miracle. If it can then its no big deal. I'm glad you don't willing
publish ways to bypass security features I just don't want to loose my
database becasue of a programming issue.

Thanks

Sorry to add to it but I have an issue. I have 2 databases with user level
security. One works and one gives me the following error:

Compile error: Error in loading DLL

Does this sound like an Access issue or a computer issue.

Thanks

Might be either, but it's almost surely not an issue with your database;
rather it's with the installation of Access. Or it might have nothing to do
with Access at all - there could be <guessing here> a damaged DLL in some
printer driver or some other program that's getting loaded.

You may need to reinstall Access.
