Well, that link doesn't work for me, but I suspect if you go into the
options when you do the File/Save as Webpage, you'll find where you can
change those colors. (File/Save as Webpage, then click the Publish button,
then Web Options.)

There should be a place for "navigation controls with a colors dropdown
where you can choose browser colors, white on black, etc.

If you want something other than those selection options, you'll have to
manually edit the HTML code.

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I followed your instructions and although
I changed the browser color when I go it on www it was still black. I hope
the following will take you to the page.

I also checked "Open published web page in browser" but it keeps coming up
with the message "This presentation contains content that your browser may
not be able to show properly. This presentation was optimized for more recent
versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer." As it is version 6 I do not
understand why it comes up with that message so I have to go to internet to
check and it is still the black background - your advice much appreciated.

I have created and published a presentation to the internet
(mhtml:http://members.cox.net/lessonstei/CAHistoryElessonsPDFs/P_HistoryofCA
..mht!P_HistoryofCA_files/frame.htm)
- I have created a nice background to the slides and that is ok. However as
you can see the background outside the slide area and also the title area is
black and I would like to change this - help appreciated - thanks. David

Did you refresh your browser when you checked the 2nd time? The background
is white here.

That link works, but understand that it will work with MSIE ... maybe, as you've
seen ... but not with some other browsers. If you want more compatibility,
don't choose Single Web Page/MHT; save as HTML instead.

I get the same thing here in MSIE6; I've got mine locked down pretty hard on
this computer. Security on high and scripting turned off etc. My guess is that
you'll get that message if scripting is off. Try changing your browser security
setting for your local zone to see if that makes a difference.

And of course, understand that others may run into the same message. More and
more people all the time, I'd expect. It's gotten ugly out there.

Ah, I see what you're saying now. Well, maybe. :-) Here's what I see,
anyway:

The navigation panel itself is white and the title text for all slides is
black *except* the title of the slide you're actually has a "reverse
highlight." So that particular slide title will have a black bar with white
text.

I don't know if there's anything you can do about that, really.

But the background around the slide itself shows white for me, as does most
of the navigation pane (except for the current slide, as explained above).
