Does FP2003 support using Real Audio (.ram) files for Background Sounds.

I can't seem to hear it - and I have Real Audio installed.

Thanks

Rick

Yes. Is Real Player set as your default player??

However, I for one will not allow Real Audio to be installed on any machine I'm in "control of" due
to past "spyware" issues.

Hi Rick,

Based on your information, it seems that you cannot hear the background
sound of a page.

First of all, I would suggest you take a look at the following article
which describes on how to apply a background sound:

297477 How to apply a background sound to a Web page in FrontPage
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=297477

Please follow the steps in the article to check if it works fine on your
side.

If it doesn't work, please perform the following steps to narrow down this
issue:

1. As Steve suggested, please check if Real Play is your default player.
Play the sound directly in Real Play to check if it is fine.

2. Create a new page, select another file types (such as .mp3, .wma) as
background sound in FrontPage 2003 to check if it works.

3. Click Start - All Programs - Windows Media Play, right-click on the top
margin of Windows Media Play, select Tools - Options, on File Types tab,
click Select All button to select all the file types for which you want to
Windows Media Player to be the default player. Then check if this issue
occurs in FrontPage.

In the meantime, to assist you better, I would like to collect more
information from you:

1. How do you apply a background sound to pages in FP?

2. Does this issue occur in certain pages or any pages in FP?

3. Does this issue occur when applying any sound file types?

If there is anything unclear, please feel free to let me know.

Regards,

Ada Pan
