Background sound not highlighted in page properties/general/backg.

I have the sound on the page but it only plays if I click it and opens in a
new page.

When I try to change it by going to page properties/general/background sound
- that option is not highlighted.

What am I doing wrong?

Bgsound is an Internet Explorer only function - check that your
compatibility is set at IE only.
and it will only be available if you have the compatibility set that way (so
Netscape and others won't hear your background sound).
