My processor runs at 100% all of the time. I checked the
task manager and there are upwards of 50 processes
running at any one time. I realize that there needs to
be a few running even when I am not actively using the
comupter, however, not this many. How do I stop these
programs from loading when the computer starts and keep
them from running until I start them? How do I ensure
that they are completely stopped when they are closed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi Tim,

Click Start | Run | MSConfig | Startup tab, disable the items which you dont
want them to run at startup,

To make sure if an application is completely closed, open Taskmanager
(ctrl+alt+del) and terminate the application/process.

Most computers are 3% to 10%. What process is taking up 90%+.

Probably System Idle - the computer twiddling its thumbs when there is
nothing whatever to do. When nothing useful is going on this is
typically in the high nineties
