I have a form, which is a continous form, ie it displays more than one record
from its recordsource. I would like, that the background colour of the
controls in each of the records, that are displayed, are different, based on
the value of a control on each record ie each row has its own unique colour.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

If you're using Access 2000 or later, the Conditional Formatiing feature will
do the job.

Create an unbound, blank text control in the continous form and send it to
the back. Set the conditional formatting for that control to assign a fill
color based on criteria associated with the control that contains the key
data.
