Back up problems - Error copying file or folder

Each time I try to back up my outlook into my pst folder I get this message
"The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a
portion of the file"

I've tried to back up my files in a new folder but the same message appears.
I also tried reinstalling the backup application; yet the same message
appears.

Can anyone help me?
 
Are you running a program that might be accessing the PST outside of
Outlook?
 
Dear Vince - I really do not know about another program accessing the PST.
Usually, my outlook is the last to be closed so Is there a way that I can
check?
 
Take a look at the programs shown in the Task Manager. See if any of them
might be things you've installed (and possibly forgotten about) that use
Outlook data (fax programs, etc)
