Back up line XP Pro

A few days ago, my machine restarted after freezing. As
it restarted, something new happened, instead of just
loading XP like it usually did, I was faced with a choice
between XP and "Back-up Line XP". I selected XP because I
don't know what back up line is. As soon as I selected
the machine immediately restarted. So, I chose back up
line and my machine works fine. I haven't noticed any
loss of performance or files or anything out of the
ordinary, except that everytime I restart or turn the
computer on I have to select back up line.
Can someone tell me what it is, where it came from, if it
is bad and what can I do to fix it?

Hi,

No idea where it came from. Start/run C:\boot.ini, click edit/select
all/edit/copy. Open a response to this post, click in the text area and hit
ctrl+v to paste the contents.

Hmmm. . .that is probably right. I will check it out.
Thanks!

The line that doesn't work is usually the result of
customising the boot screens. That runs the customised
logos and the backup one is stock stanard XP.

Ok, ran boot.ini and this is what is said.

"[boot loader]
timeout = 30
default = multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS = "Microsoft
Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /KERNEL=LOGOOS.EXE
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS = "(Backup
Line) Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect"
