Hi!

I need to know if there is a CHEAP way to back up a HD? I have 2 320 gig HD
which both are full. I need to back up all these files (.avi's) before
something happens. I have True Image Version 10. But I need a place to put
the backed up image file...

Thanks,
-Dave

You need to buy an external storage device and/or start burning DVDs like
mad.

In 24 hours - straight buring - you could have your 140 DVDs burned and all
600GB of data backed up.
(Each 320GB drive probably holds 298GB of data..)

Cheap options are either to backup to DVDs or to backup your files via the
internet on a remote server. Lots of companies provide this service for a
monthly fee, http://www.gotomyfiles.com/ for example. But even with a
broadband connection it would take hours to upload over 600Gb of files.
Ideally you need a 1000Gb external hard drive, but that will be expensive.

For about $430+shipping you could get a drive in an external enclosure that
allows USB or Ethernet.

Do you want the group to purchase some new hard drives for you? Sorry, just
don't understand your appeal for help here. You have the software to use to
backup your 2 - 320 GB hds, so it's obvious you need some place to "put the
backed up image file" just as you stated.

Cheers.
