Hi,

My new PC did not come with a windows xp installation cd. Is it possible to
make one from the installed system?

Jason;
That depends on the computer manufacturer, most do.
That is not a feature of Windows.
Check your manual and/or contact the computer manufacturer.

I have a seperate thread. I have an option that I could use as a last
resort.
Use your CD-R software to make a bootable CD. Get the image from a Windows
98 boot floppy. Create a directory called I386. Copy the I386 files from the
hard drive to I386 on the CD. The CD will boot into DOS and then you could
run I386/winnt. The problem is I don't know how this would work for recovery
or anything like that.

Contact the computer manufacturer's tech support so see if that's
possible with their installation. Some can, some can't. Another option
is to see if you can order one from them.
