Back again for help...DeskScan 2.9 installation problem Win 2000

Install new 2906 adapteck card. Wins sees card and ScanJet IIcx. When
I go to install DeskScan 2.9, it says it is initializing install
Wizarrd/ Goes from 0 to 100 percent., hangs for about 30 seconds and
no Intal Shield Wizard appears. Any help or advice would be
appreciated.

Did you?

a. "install to existing SCSI" to avoid installing the
HP/NCR 53C400A card driver

b. re-install the Adaptec 2906 software again, after
installing Deskscan? Unfortunately, the DS install
process will still attempt to load the antique NCR
ASPI layer.

Depending on the Windows OS, you may need to get the
current ASPI for your SCSI card. Download and run
Adaptec's ASPICHK.EXE to make sure of what got loaded.
For Win2K, I suspect what's needed is the native ASPI
that MS supplies.

I'm still using a Scanjet 4C on Windows 2000 SP4, via
Deskscan 2.9 and an Adaptec 2940. I'm sort of amazed
that it works. The GUI does crash if I resize the
preview window over 1600x1200.
