The Contacts folder is contained in the pst-file

Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file.

By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

You can also locate the file by using
Rightclick the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced-> field Filename

Let me start with a little background information on the Outlook Address
Book (OAB). The OAB is a service in Outlook that displays the Contacts
folder, Personal Address Book or Global Address List and is not an actual
Address Book file. If you want to backup your OAB you need to first
determine where the addresses actually exist. If the addresses are in your
Contacts folders in Outlook then you need to backup your Personal Folder
File (.pst) which will back up your contacts and all of your e-mail. If you
addresses are in a Personal Address Book then you need to locate and backup
the .pab file associated with the OAB.

I hope this information is helpful.
