avi player

I have some .avi files. Neither Windows Media Player or Realplayer will
play the video but they do play the audio. Is there a player that will work
with avi files you would recommend or are there downloads to make WMP player
work?

any help appreciated

Please don't top post, it makes reading threads harder, anyway:

Did you know that the divx website links to porn sites now, like Hustler?
Thought I'd share this with you, because that is why I won't use there stuff
anymore. Also, there free version of the divx (avi) encoder contains
spyware, as it states at the site (ad supported software).
 
You can download just the codec and run it on WMP. I think
I like top posting because I can see the newest info/answers
first.

Really, porn on the Internet, how shocking.

Media Player version 8 works for me audio and video.
