When I will insert a video AVI recorded in my digital machine in PowerPoint,
appears the following message: Video Unavailable . No possible to find the
descompact 'vids:mjpg'.

Help me.

Thanks

Try renaming the file and give it a file extension of .mpg. Then try inserting
it and test the presentation. Does that work?

Sonia.

The information at
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm may be of help.
If the AVI is encoded with a codec that you don't have installed on your system,
you will get that message. You need to determine what codec was used and then
install it one your system. Is your AVI file from a digital camera?

You may want to download and install the demo MJPG codec from Main Concept
(http://www.mainconcept.com/codecs.shtml) and see whether it corrects your
problem. I believe that it marks your video because it is a demo. You have to
purchase the codec to remove the markings.

Sonioa.

I don't speak or read Portugese, but with the help of a translator Taveira says
that installing the Main Concept codec did the trick. Thank you, Taveira, for
letting us know.

Dear Sonia and Traveira

I recently had to play an AVI file on WMP9 but didn't have the right
codec. The codec I think you need is a XVID Code and can be found at
www.xvidmovies.com/codec - it will then play.

Good luck.
