Can files in avi format be written to CD and played from CD, or do they
need to be written to a DVD?
Thanks.

only "really" play these file(s) on XP.

Is there a way to extract the sound tracts so that these can be played
on any CD player?

some commercial. And maybe Windows Media Player might even convert
AVI to CD Audio format.
