.avi files type 2 in Moviemaker

When trying to import .avi files that are captured as type 2 Win Moviemaker
ask me to install a new codec, but not wich one or from where.
Where can i find it or is there any other way import it than to convert the
file . Note I have checked the box "get codec automaticly" under
tools/alternatives long ago.
Thanks in advance if you have a clue on this./ B

Usually it is DIVX. www.divx.com

A good all purpose codec is ffdshow <http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net>
which handles most of the common formats.
